]]> At this family-friendly event, learn about what government benefits are available to loved ones with special needs and how to maximize them.

Who can better care for your loved one with special needs than you? In truth, probably no one. But, that doesn’t change the fact that there are numerous government benefits and programs available to those who have special needs that can ensure they are cared for long after you are available to care for them.

At this one-of-a-kind event organized by The Misty Carol Project and hosted by Mini Equine 2 U, you’ll learn about how to navigate government benefits and maximize what’s available. The goal is to provide education so you can ensure your loved ones are provided for.

For one hour, guest speaker Barbara Bush will share her wisdom on how to navigate government benefits, prepare loved ones with special needs for adulthood, and how to maximize the support available. While you learn, kids 4+ can explore the fun and supervised activities hosted by the Mini Equine 2 U nonprofit.

Mini Equine 2 U is based in Wimberley, Texas, and utilizes the proven qualities of miniature horses to provide therapy for individuals of all ages.

]]> When you have a loved one with special needs to care for, the world becomes a more difficult place to navigate. Between qualifying for government aid and worrying about the future of your child, spouse, or sibling, there are many stressors the average family faces. The goal of The Misty Carol Project is to help provide a beacon of light by showcasing and connecting families with education, resources, and professionals who have answers. This is exactly what occurred at the September 24, 2022, event hosted in Wimberley, Texas.

Our growing organization was pleased to host 25+ attendees at the Wimberley Community Center between 12-3 p.m. A special thanks goes to Frank Moyer and The Wealth Store who provided hours of Q&A on special needs trusts and navigating the ins and outs of government assistance. 

Topics that Frank spoke on included:

  • The difference between standard revocable and special needs trusts
  • Why your family needs a special needs trust
  • The key benefits of a special needs trust (security & control)
  • How to guarantee your child qualifies for government aid regardless of how much $$ you make
